Just to add to the lineup for the first meeting, I'll be doing some demos of some of the different ways to integrate Bing Maps + SQL Server 2008. In this session I'll be covering, amongst other things:
- Different methods to retrieve and display SQL Server spatial data on Bing Maps - shape layers (GeoRSS, KML) and dynamic tile layers, and discussing the relative advantages of each method.
- How to insert geography and geometry data into SQL Server from Bing Maps hand-drawn shapes or routing results.
- Using Bing Maps Web Services to perform geocoding directly in the DB layer.
- Using Bing Maps as a visualisation tool for location intelligence in business reports, and the Bing Maps integration into SQL Server Reporting Services R2.
If there's anything else that you want to know about using spatial data in SQL Server, or how to integrate that data into Bing Maps please leave a comment here and I'll be happy to try to include it in the session.
